Blanch Linton: Launching an Industry

Posted on June 15, 2012

Many of you have read the post I wrote about my father a few weeks ago, and watched the interview conducted by our content team. In that video my father talks a lot about the very first innovation that got our company off the ground – providing educators with footage of real teachers in real classrooms, demonstrating best practices. What I’ve posted here is a video of my mother, talking a little bit about her experiences launching the business. She describes in some detail our very first  relationship with experts in the field of education, a relationship that eventually led to a totally new way of producing professional development videos. Rather than just featuring a talking head (which most of our competitors did at the time), my parents filmed experts explaining pedagogical principles and practices, and then presented real-life demonstrations of how to carry out those practices in the classroom.
